Data and Analytics Vacancies - NSS-BI

Come and join a team that uses data to help improve outcomes for patients across health and social care. We are passionate about our work to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland

About the Organisation

National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS board operating right at the heart of NHS Scotland (NHSS). Providing support and advice at a strategic and operational level, NSS supports the delivery of critical services in an efficient and effective manner.

We offer shared services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards. Our priority is always the same – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland. We work in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver fit for purpose solutions and systems, freeing up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services. In this context, NSS Digital and Security (DaS) operates as a center of excellence for digital, security, data, and technology in Scotland.

The Data and Analytics Service is a dedicated team of professionals that design, develop, and support integrated data and analytical platforms for NHS Scotland. Our work underpins Scotland’s reputation as a world leader in health informatics.

We are a high-performing team, promoting a culture of openness and trust, working together to achieve our goals. We effectively utilize the diverse range of skills we each bring and encourage the sharing of knowledge and new ideas to help solve our customer’s data challenges.

Our technology

Our advanced Data and analytics platform (Seer) is recognised as a major source of health and care data in Scotland, utilising a Logical Data Warehouse architecture and leading data and information tools. We have recently completed a major effort to migrate our on-premise platform into the cloud, delivering 50TB of data to thousands of users. We use cutting-edge technology and tools such as SnowFlake on AWS, Denodo, Tableau, advanced machine learning environments, Alteryx, and cloud-based computing to provide our product portfolio, ranging from standard reporting through to advanced analytics and AI/ML. These services enable performance improvements, operational planning, improved outcomes for patients, and academic research.
